The Importance of Mental Health

This morning (Thursday 31st February), the Year Sevens and Eights were given an assembly on mental health. Although many people don’t want to talk about it, mental health is a very serious issue that affects many more people than we think, and it is very important to discuss it.  A lady called Danielle delivered the assembly and informed us about a website called Kooth.

Kooth is an anonymous way of talking about your mental health to professional therapists without telling them any personal information. If you are feeling alone or like you can’t confide in anybody, Kooth is the perfect solution! You can also write songs or articles if you have experienced mental health issues, in order to help other people who are going through the same thing. You could talk to other people, similar to you, gain support ad give it to other people.

I think this was a very interesting assembly and a very important thing to learn about given so many young people are struggling with mental health issues. I hope that some people will use this site if they need support: it is a fantastic idea! A big thank you to Danielle, who gave up her time to come and talk to us.
