On the 12^th of December, Year 5 went to the Trinity Church, to find out about Jesus, Joseph, Mary and the Christmas story. The Trinity church is on the high street, Year 5 had a 20-minute walk, and they were very excited. When they arrived, Year 5 went into the main part of the Church and met two ministers who said they would tell Year 5 about the Christmas. Then we were shown a mini movie called ‘The Noisy Neighbour’. It was about a mouse detective that was trying to find out who Jesus was. Next, we heard about the light of Jesus and what he means to a Christian’s life. As well as the light of Jesus and how he makes the world light the minister also talked about how sometimes the world can be dark. However, he said we should just let Jesus fix it not us. Because if we try to make the world better it is just going to become worse. When the man was talking, he had a big jug of water. When he was talking about the world being dark, he put lots of iodine in. Then when he was talking about us trying to make it light again he put yellow food dye in and it just made it darker. When he was talking about Jesus making the world light he got a cross, put it in the water, and mixed. It magically turned into a clear liquid again.

Finally, we got our Christingle. If you do not know what a Christingle is it’s an orange with cocktail sticks and sweets on the cock tail sticks. The orange represents the world, the cocktail sticks the seasons and the things on the sticks are the amazing things that our world produces.
