On Monday October 12th, 40 children from year 6 went to the People’s Theatre to see the poet and children’s author Kit Wright reading some of his poems. The children were entertained with many amusing poems and stories, some of which were sung. They even tried to guess the riddles contained in some of the poems – getting some very tricky ones right.

The children all seem to have really enjoyed themselves, and this special trip has helped to increase their appreciation of poetry. All of year 6 are studying Kit Wright’s poetry in school, and the children who didn’t go on the trip will be able to hear all about Kit from those who were lucky enough to go.
