Accenture Experience

In June approximately 20 year 8 students visited one of the world’s leading tech companies, Accenture for a week. Accenture is a very big tech company that works with many other leading companies and organizations such as Argos (they created their website), Met Police and Google (they help fix any problems when Google cannot solve it by themselves!) They are very important and have a turnover of over £3 billion!

We arrived on the Monday and had 2 different instructors called Ian and Ket. Ian taught on the 3nd and 4th days of our trip and Ket  on the 1st, 2nd and 5th (the final day) of our trip.

On the 1st day we learnt about interview skills, how to write a cover letter and CV. This is going to help us in our later life as we will be more prepared for job interviews. The next day we got to Accenture and we did some team building activities such as a creating a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows. On the 3rd day we learnt some HTML coding and we made our own websites about something we were interested in or liked such as sport or a TV show. The next day we got into groups and started making a presentation on what we had learnt over the past days. We also created a website to go with the presentation. On the last day we presented what we had learnt to some of the top people in Accenture.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this week (and the free teas, coffees and hot chocolates!) we would definitely recommend this to the Year 7s and it was a great week!
