Danny or Philip?

On the 6th of December 2016, KS3 had a treat; an author visit! Philip came in and talked to us for the whole of lesson one. First he told us about how he became an author in the first place. Then he explained how he writes children’s books and which books he has written. Everybody was intrigued and asked lots of questions.

Do you dare?

On the 6th of December 2016, KS3 had a treat; an author visit! Philip came in and talked to us for the whole of lesson one. First he told us about how he became an author in the first place. Then he explained how he writes children’s books and which books he has written. Everybody was intrigued and asked lots of questions.

Philip then spoke about how he becomes Danny Weston and writes scarier books for children around our age. He advertised the three horror stories he has recently finished: The Piper, Mr Sparks and The Haunting of Jessop Rise. The Piper and The Haunting of Jessop Rise are both ghost stories and ‘Danny’ read us a part out of The Haunting of Jessop Rise and it was very thrilling and chilling! The Mr Sparks book is about a ventriloquist dummy that lives in a hotel. Even the book cover sends shivers down the spine. He didn’t tell us much about that one so we will need to read the book if we want to find out what happens and if we are brave enough.
