Ethan is a member of Gosforth Harriers and has been since he was 7 years old. He runs with them 5 times a week and goes every Wednesday to the track. The most famous people in Gosforth Harriers are Kieran Mod who is European Biathlon Champion and Rhiane Purvis who came 8th in the National Cross Country Championships and she is an Olympic prospect.

Ethan has been quite lucky when it comes to injuries although he has had a spiked leg during a race from someone else’s running shoes (a typical injury for runners). His hardest race was in Druridge Bay in snow and ice (where he got his leg spiked).

Ethan gave some advice for people who would like to start running. He said have fun. When you first start don’t put too much pressure on yourself.  Give yourself a break and enjoy your first race. You need to have given everything when you get to the finish line. Always try your best then you can happy with your performance. It is also good to have a running buddy — somebody who is more experienced than you and can give advice about how to best run a race.
