We do loads of cool stuff at Bike Club including bike rides, learning how to mend a puncture, games and competitive races with prizes. If you want to join Bike Club, it is on a Thursday after school between 3:20 and 4:15. We meet in the reception area once lessons have finished. After all, anybody from any year group with any ability is welcome so come and join us (year 5s will be able to start after October half-term).
And don’t worry, we do longer bike rides as well if that is your thing. The longest one that I have been on with school was the day cycle to Whitley Bay, which was 23 miles!
Bike Club is run by Miss Hudson, but bike experts come in as well. Right now Chloe comes in to help, and Kian used to. (He still joins us on longer bike rides.) Here is my description of the latest bike ride that I went on to North Shields Fish Quay on Monday 18th of July:
It was very sunny day, perfect for cycling. At registration bike club got together. We got on our bikes, did the last few checks and set off. Miss Hudson was leading at the front, Chloe was in the middle and Mr Jordan was at the back. No one was allowed to go in front of Miss Hudson or behind Mr Jordan.
We set off cycling at about 9:30. We had a few breaks along the way, and after a steep hill, we made it. We were at North Shields fish quay. (And just in time for lunch) We had lunch and, since we had made good time, we had some free time.
Soon it was time to go, so we saddled up again onto our bikes. The way back was hard, but we did have lots of breaks, so that helped. And we made it. After all that hard work and effort, we made it. And 27 miles as well!
So if you want some adventure, join bike club.
