On Monday 18th July, 23 year 8 pupils went on a trip to the Centre For Life, as a reward for getting no planner comments throughout the year. All of the students who went really enjoyed the trip, as there were many fun and interesting activities to do.

After the students got registered, we set off with 2 teachers, Mrs Cheape and Mr Dowman, on the Metro to the science centre. Once we were all checked in, we went to our first activity; a display of different animal organs, which was, perhaps surprisingly, very interesting to see.

Then it was onto the planetarium to look at celestial cycles, which explore the orbits of the Moon around the Earth and the Earth around the Sun. It was fascinating to watch and listen to, and welearned a lot about this aspect of astronomy. We then went back to the display of animal organs, before getting to one of the highlights, the 4D motion ride, which everyone very much enjoyed.

After everyone replenished themselves with some delicious food, the next activities were the creative zone and the brain zone. There were lots of fun things to do while learning about the complex ways in which the brain works.

Before everyone headed back to school, we got an ice cream and sat outside in the sun to eat it. It was a great and interesting day that the pupils and teachers enjoyed, and won’t forget quickly.
