SafetyWorks is an interactive safety centre with several different scenarios to show how many everyday places and objects can be dangerous. All of Year 7 has been to Safety Works. My class (7KW) went with ten people from 7KJ.

On Tuesday 17th of June, some pupils from GEMS took part in a climbing competition.
On the 20th June Key Stage 2 got to watch a performance about Roald Dahl which was performed by one actor called Tony Pedley. This was to complete the series of activities that we have been doing in school to celebrate the centenary of Road Dahl’s birth.

Throughout June, Year Six visited Nissan in Sunderland. There was a huge variety of activities during the day, from building a car out of Lego to watching a robotic arm in action!
On June 28th 11 Year 7 students went to Northumbria University to participate in an event called ‘Big Bang North East’. We took part in lots of fun tasks and had a few interesting lectures.
On Monday 6th and Monday 13th June, year 5 went to… The Rising Sun Country Park. During the day there were 3 activities: den building, making bread and making flour.

It was time for the annual summer fair. The sun was shining, the breeze warm and insects buzzed lazily in the heat haze. Only joking! This was after all July in England so the rain clouds were massing on the horizon and the temperature struggled to make double figures. Undeterred, the barbeque was erected, the bouncy castle inflated and the ice-cream van stood at the ready. There was lots of fun still to be had.
The 9th of June was great fun, as 5AW had planned a street party for the whole school to celebrate the queen’s 90th birthday. Everyone was encouraged to wear red, white and blue, our country’s colours and Union Jacks fluttered in the summer breeze.
In science 5RM went pond dipping. We were searching for all kinds of creatures such as: frogspawn, water boatmen and diving beetles.
