They’re Coming Up…Academy Music

On the 22nd of January, a group of Year 8 musicians went to the Academy for a transition day. In the morning, the Year 8s were split into three groups and went to practise a song. These songs were Rolling in the Deep, Hound Dog and Mustang Sally. Once they had practised, they performed  to the rest of the year 8s.

These songs were Rolling in the Deep, Hound Dog and Mustang Sally. Once they had practised, they performed  to the rest of the year 8s.

We then listened to a performance by a boy who played the piano and a group of people improvised a song. This was followed by a piece from a saxophone player who afterwards,  played a few notes on the saxophone which the Year 8s had to repeat on their own instruments.

The Year 8s enjoyed the transition day and can’t wait until they are at the academy to enjoy the new musical experiences that it will offer.
