Jeans for Genes Day
On Friday the 23rd of September the whole school was allowed to wear jeans for a day to raise money for people with genetic disorders.

This year the Year 8s visited the Isle of Arran and, although we did not enjoy the four and a half hour drive, the beautiful views over the sea to Arran made up for it! We stayed on the north-west side of the island, at Lochranza.

Bike club is now running for year 5, after school on Thursday 3:30 to 4:20pm. The children will be practicing bike skills in preparation for all-day bike rides. The school can provide bikes and helmets.
We need you to vote for our 21st Century School project so GEMS can receive £25,000 from AVIVA.
Jessica in year 5 came second out of 14,998 children in SUMDOG's national maths contest.
From Monday 17th to Thursday 20th October, GEMS will be hosting a Scholastic book fair.
We do loads of cool stuff at Bike Club including bike rides, learning how to mend a puncture, games and competitive races with prizes.
Our ‘School Stars Gallery’ has continued to grow this term and we now have 42 children featured with their varying skills and achievements.
Due to unprecedented interest in bike club, it will run for year 6, 7 and 8 until 20th October (half term). Bike club will then run for year 5 children from November 3rd to December 1st.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of numbers, our bike ride along the Sandstone Way has had to be cancelled.
At the beginning of June a number of Year 6 pupils took part in the Sainsbury’s School Games gymnastics competition held at the Walker Activity Dome.
