NSPCC Visit

NSPCC Childline came to talk to year 5 and year 6 about child laws and safety.

On the 9th of February the NSPCC Childline came to talk to year 5 and year 6 about child laws and safety. We talked about certain scenarios and whether they were ok or not ok. For example, if someone watches or touches a child when the child is uncomfortable with the situation. We obviously all decided that this was not all right and the child should tell somebody about their concerns. We also talked about different types of abuse and we all decided that these kinds of things should not happen to children and that it was wrong for people to do this kind of thing.

Then we watched a video about Guy and his life. His clothes were ripped and not suitable for a child to be wearing and he was given small portions of food. Then in the video he called ChildLine and told his teacher.  This helped him and made him very happy and he got loads of friends!

We were also introduced to Buddy who is ChildLine’s mascot. He talked about how he wants us to be safe and that he wants no harm to come to children.

The phone number for ChildLine is 0800 1111 if any child is in need of help. The calls are free and confidential.
