Night at the Museum– the sequel

Last year some lucky pupils got to stay the night at the Great North Museum. This year it was the turn of three pupils from Year 8 Amelia, Luke and Rhianna. This is what Amelia had to write about her experience:

We did lots of activities such as taking out strawberry DNA in the morning. I met new friends called Faith and Niamh (Nieve) while also seeing a former student from GEMS, Lily! In the afternoon, we did a competition based on things around Newcastle University campus; we may not have won, however, it was a very fun experience. After that, we got to do a carousel of different tasks. My favourites were junk drumming, the planetarium and circus skills like juggling, spinning plates and lots more.

On campus, we went for lunch at a chicken parlour and then bed time was 10:00pm; 11pm was when the lights were off although, we were telling scary stories for probably 3 hours so at around 2:30am everything was silent!

At 7:30am a very, very loud alarm went off to wake everyone up. We left at 8:00am for breakfast which tasted so good and then had to make up a society and ours was called DDCS (Developing Dementia Care Society)

Unfortunately, it was then time to head for home at 11:30am but I can happily say the people I met are amazing and also that it was the best experience of my life!
