Disco Museum – Debate Discovery

On the first two Mondays and Tuesdays of October, the Year 8s went to the Discovery Museum to visit the Charge Gallery, which was about wars (WW1 and WW2 in particular). It was a trip organised by Mrs Cheape in preparation for our debate about wars. We started off by looking around the gallery and finding out as much information as we could before we sat down and played some games.

It was a trip organised by Mrs Cheape in preparation for our debate about wars. We started off by looking around the gallery and finding out as much information as we could before we sat down and played some games.

Our first game was a counting game. We tried to count as high as we could in a group but anybody could talk. If two people spoke at the same time, we had to start again. We only got to 7, 8KJ got to 20 but 8KP got to 33! Then we were given some statements about war and we had to say whether we agreed with it or not. Afterwards, in threes, we were given one of those statements and we had to find evidence about it. Then we had to get back onto the Metro and go back to school.

The debate will be on the 2nd of November next half term.
