Points Mean Prizes...Beach Trip: The iris reward

On the 16th July 2018, a group of children visited Cullercoats Bay. This was a reward bought in the iris shop. The price of the trip in the hard earned iris points was 120. The students, accompanied by Mrs Cheape and Ms Graham, took the metro to Cullercoats. Upon arrival at the beach, the students positioned their belongings with the group’s and started digging! The beach itself was fun, there was walking into the cold sea; making pits of water; ball games and exploring. One key activity of the day was crab spotting - but most crabs were dead. Fortunately, there was one lobster hiding under a rock causing a commotion as it was rather large.

Then it started to rain. Everyone grabbed their coats and ate lunch under the shelter of the restaurant. On the way back to the Metro, we stopped to have ice cream. There were many flavours including blackcurrant sorbet (my favourite.) Students also bought hot chocolate.

All agreed that the beach trip was a huge success and a lot of fun. Mrs Cheape says she had a fun time and will be looking forward to it next year. Maybe you could work hard for iris points so we can see you next year on the beach trip.
