Gymnastics..how is that position even possible!

On Tuesday 13th June 2017, 12 girls and 1 boy went to a gyOn Tuesday 13th June 2017, 12 girls and 1 boy went to a gymnastics competition at Walker Activity Dome.  Team A was a group of year 5s and team B was a group of year 6s. When they got there, they ate their packed lunches on a balcony that overlooked the floor.

When they got there, they ate their packed lunches on a balcony that overlooked the floor.

First, they did cheerleading in pairs and then in a big group. They did lifts and dancing. Next, they did the beam. They did tricks and then did flips on the beam or flipped off the beam. Then there was one big vault and two springs and the pupils did lots of tricks.

It was then time to warm up for the floor routine. They practised all together and then did the real thing. This performance was against three other teams and was judged individually out of ten and then added together for the final score.

Sadly, GEMS did not win but they still did very well and we are all proud of them for having a go. After all, it’s not winning that matters, it’s the taking part.
