On Thursday the 17th of March somebody from Saint John’s ambulance came in to educate us on safety and well-being. The first thing she taught us was the recovery position. The recovery position is useful if you find someone unconscious on the ground. First you need to check the area for dangers. Then you must speak into both ears of the injured person saying can you hear me. If there is no response tap them on the shoulders. Next open their mouth and look and see if there is anything you need to remove. Then listen to their breathing at their mouth and with your hand on their stomach. Now you need to shout HELP! To place them In the recovery position bring the hand closest to you up and out of the way then bend the leg furthest away from you up and keep your hand on to support it. Then you need to bring the hand furthest away from you to the cheek closest to you. Then pull them towards you. They also taught us how to put bandages on and a lot of interesting facts. We feel better prepared to cope with a medical emergency situation. But we hope we don’t have to.
